Auto Enrolment

Who do I have to enrol into the scheme?
Although the pension reform is for ‘everyone’, not everyone qualifies for the programme. As an employer, one of your tasks relating to auto enrolment will be to assess all of your employees to determine who is, or is not, eligible.   Where employees are eligible, you must automatically enrol them.

An employee must be automatically enrolled if they meet the following criteria:

  • Are not already active members in a Qualifying Workplace Pension
  • Are at least 22 years old
  • Are under the state pension age
  • Earn more than £9,440 annually (this figure will be subject to change)
  • Work or regularly work in the UK
