Apart from the contributions which you will need to make for each eligible employee, there may also be costs associated with setting up and running the pension scheme.

The main cost will be time. It is estimated that it will take a medium sized business around 103 working days to implement auto enrolment.

The business may also need to upgrade or change its software and this will be an additional cost. It’s usually the payroll software which is addressed.
